The latest build appears to have messed up the Taskbar (including Start)

Almost as if a redraw is being performed through the middle of it.
I am noticing this on a couple skins (Arrow and XBOX 360 is real noticible)

These were fine before the 5.01RC load.

I'm also having major problems with the taskbar size after the latest update. I've just changed my motherboard and gfx card going from a X850XTPE to a X1900TXT. I can apply any skin and it seems ok, but them after a reboot the skin defaults back to stock luna with a bigger taskbar and can't apply any more skins without it going all messed up.

If your skin reverts to luna after a reboot then something on your PC is reapplying that skin.

Try switching to classic from WB and then applying a WB skin.  Does that help?

Citizen JRSCCivic98 -

Seems many notebooks use proprietary driver sets that can't be updated with generic drivers. I have a Fujitsu Lifebook that fits that description - even using Patje's ModTool, newer Cat drivers just won't install. It's very frustrating. It may have to do with the particular hardware - my rig supports hardware acceleration of constant alpha blending but not per-pixel - and the manufacturer has protected it from being "damaged" by us "users."

Try Omega's setup... they state that they work with all 9x00 cards... mobility or not. http://www.omegadrivers.net/

When I say it reapplys luna what it seems to be doing is trying to apply the new skin, Kol's vista 3.1 in this case, but it uses the bitmaps from luna. So I get an enlarged task bar which then had the name of the day underneath the time far right and the rollover colours on the start menu are light blue as in vista 3.1, but the start bar itself and all window borders are standard luna blue colours.

I've now done a fresh XP install totall and it's just the same, so it's either the new build of WB or the new gfx card which is causing my problems. Everything was fine last week before I reinstalled windows after replacing the gfx card and motherboard.

Well, after much gried with one thing or another , I have decided to just uninstall WB -
Too bad too, I have been a supporter of Stardock for a long time now -

I've had to uninstall too, just can't use it with it messing up the taskbar and not applying themes as it should. Damm annoying as I've paid for a full OD subscription!

I have ZERO problems on my DELL Laptop with a Mobility 9000 ATI chipset. I am running 5.? catsfrom Omega. I have had zero problems up to and including th 5.01 release.

Interesting, what Cats from Omega are you using, I could not install any of them.
What Skins are you trying to use?
Have you tried the skins I mentioned above?
What Dell system are you running on?

Check that you have not set wbconfig to make the taskbar small.

Ya know, I was not explicitly setting this - but some how it got set!

Changing this to 'Skin decides the taskbar size' corrected my issue

Sorry for the rants all.
